Material selection is another key factor. If a material has already been specified, we can work to that requirement. If not, understanding the application allows us to suggest suitable options based on strength, durability and cost-efficiency.


We also need clarity on quantities and batch sizes. One-off prototypes, small production runs and repeat batch work all require different planning and pricing structures. Alongside this, realistic lead times help us schedule machining capacity and ensure expectations are aligned from the start.
Finally, technical drawings, CAD files, reference samples or even photographs can significantly streamline the quoting process.
